Ritika Narang — values for designing cities around people
01 — Human scale
A city is first felt at eye level.
Soft edges — open shopfronts, seating, shade — invite people to stay. Blank walls send them away.
02 — Street scale
Streets are public rooms, not just conduits.
Room for walking, rolling, cycling, waiting, selling and sitting — designed for everyone regardless of age, ability or income.
03 — Neighbourhood scale
Daily life should be within reach.
Blocks, parks and schools stitched together so the walk to them is the easy choice.
04 — Master Plan & Corridor
Every regional line still ends at one person.
Corridors and master plans only work when they trace back to how a human being actually experiences the place.
